Gansu Juxiang Fluoroplastics Technology Co.,Ltd. is a Metal Wave-tooth Composite Gasket manufacturer supplying the JXF7020 for process gas piping and large heat exchanger flanges. The gasket pairs a profiled wavy metal skeleton with flexible graphite or PTFE facings bonded to both faces, so the joint recovers as the flange pair moves through temperature and pressure cycles. Outer diameters run from 25 mm to 4000 mm, thicknesses from 2.5 mm to 6.5 mm, pressure classes from Class 150 to Class 2500, and service temperatures from -196 °C to +650 °C.
A Wavy Core That Keeps Seating Stress
The wave-tooth skeleton is the defining element. A continuous wave profile is formed into the metal core and acts as a spring between the flanges. When the joint is tightened the waves deflect; as the line heats, cools or pressure swings, they push back and maintain seating stress on the facing. The result is better resilience and compensation than a toothed composite gasket, whose serrations crush and stay crushed.
- Bonded construction: graphite or PTFE facings are bonded to the core, producing one stable unit for installation and transport.
- Flange tolerance: the composite face adapts to normal surface finish and flatness variation across the flange.
- Cycling duty: built for lines where temperature and pressure fluctuate severely.
- Pressure scope: Class 150 to Class 2500, with a temperature range from -196 °C to +650 °C.
Range and Configuration
The JXF7020 is built to a flange drawing or a nominated standard, with the core, facing, diameter and thickness fixed as a set. The table shows the scope we supply and the project data that sets each value.
| Parameter | Scope we supply | Set by |
|---|---|---|
| Outer diameter | 25 mm to 4000 mm | Flange size, DN or NPS, and the available sealing land |
| Thickness | 2.5 mm to 6.5 mm | Pressure class, facing type, bolt load and compression space |
| Pressure class | Class 150 to Class 2500 | Line design pressure and flange rating |
| Service temperature | -196 °C to +650 °C | Facing material and design temperature |
| Facing | Flexible graphite or PTFE | Media, temperature, oxidizer presence and cycling |
| Core | Wavy metal skeleton | Flange material, bolt load and required recovery |
| Standard | GB/T 19066.1-2020, GB/T 19066.2-2020 | Project specification or nominated standard |
| Geometry | Ring, full-face or drawing-specific | Flange facing, bolt circle and installation access |
Diameter and thickness are linked. A large heat exchanger flange needs enough gasket thickness to bridge surface variation, but the thickness must still fit the compression space and remain within the bolt load available.
Application Fit in Process Gas and Heat Exchanger Service
Process gas lines are the main duty: natural gas, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and steam, together with large heat exchanger flanges where the gasket diameter is large and the joint sees thermal movement. The wavy core is useful where a flat gasket would relax and a solid metal gasket would demand a heavier flange and higher bolt load.
- Gas transmission and process piping: natural gas, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and steam service.
- Heat exchangers: shell, channel and large-diameter flange joints.
- Cycling plant: startup and shutdown, intermittent processes and pressure swings.
- High-pressure classes: up to Class 2500 where a semi-metallic joint is required.
Where the duty is lower temperature and chemical resistance dominates, our Modified PTFE Gasket and Expanded PTFE Reinforced Flange Gasket cover other points in the same sealing envelope; the wave-tooth construction is the choice when recovery and high-temperature capability matter together.
Graphite or PTFE Facing
Both facings share the same wavy core; the sealing layer changes. Flexible graphite is the usual selection for steam, high-temperature gas and services where the facing must remain stable to the top of the range. PTFE facings suit chemical and process gas duty at moderate temperature, where resistance and a clean contact surface matter. The choice is fixed against the media list, design temperature and any oxidizer present, because the two facings are not interchangeable at every working point.
- Graphite facing: steam, hot gas, thermal cycling and high recovery.
- PTFE facing: chemical resistance, clean contact and moderate temperature.
- Both: bonded to the core and supplied as a single gasket.
Flange Data, Installation and Acceptance
A wave-tooth gasket performs only when it is compressed correctly. We confirm the gasket geometry against the flange drawing before release, and the installation sequence is agreed so the facings are not damaged during fit-up. Production parameters are monitored through the run; acceptance criteria are agreed before production and checked against the drawing and the nominated execution standard.
- Flange standard and facing type: raised face, full face, tongue and groove.
- DN or NPS, pressure class, bolt circle, bolt count and bolt size.
- Gasket ID, OD and thickness, or a dimensioned flange drawing.
- Flange surface finish and flatness on both sides.
- Bolt-up procedure and target torque.
- Line media, design pressure and design temperature.
- Quantity, spare allowance and delivery schedule.
Large rings need a handling plan at fit-up, and packing is agreed to protect the facings until installation. Documentation and usage guidance travel with the shipment to support incoming inspection and flange records.
Information We Use to Configure Your Solution
A proposal is prepared from the working point, material and production target rather than from a catalogue number alone. The following inputs let us fix the core, facing, geometry and standard in one pass.
- Media and concentration, including any oxidizer.
- Design pressure and design temperature, plus operating cycle.
- Flange standard, facing, DN or NPS and pressure class.
- Flange drawing or measured ID, OD, bolt circle and thickness.
- Required execution standard and project specification.
- Quantity, spare ratio and required delivery date.
- Marking, packaging and documentation requirements.
- Destination and shipping constraints.
Send the flange drawing and line data and we will return a configuration with the gasket geometry, facing, core and standard referenced. Inquiries are answered within 12 working hours. Our dual production bases in Zhejiang and Gansu, China, support custom manufacture to drawings or samples, and the wider fluoroplastic product range covers sealing, sheet, rod and machined components from the same material family.
Customer Questions
What temperature and pressure range does the JXF7020 cover?
The gasket is supplied for service from -196 °C to +650 °C and pressure classes from Class 150 to Class 2500. The final combination depends on the facing, flange rating and line design conditions, which we fix at quotation.
What sizes can you manufacture?
Outer diameters from 25 mm to 4000 mm and thicknesses from 2.5 mm to 6.5 mm. Rings, full-face gaskets and drawing-specific profiles are produced to the flange data supplied.
How is graphite versus PTFE facing selected?
We match the facing to the media list, design temperature, oxidizer presence and cycling severity. Graphite is used for steam and high-temperature gas; PTFE is used for chemical and process gas duty at moderate temperature.
Can you produce to a non-standard flange drawing?
Yes. Custom manufacture to drawings or samples is part of our service. A dimensioned flange drawing, bolt circle, facing type and line data are enough to prepare the configuration.
