Modified PTFE Sheet Industry knowledge

Gansu Juxiang Fluoroplastics Technology Co.,Ltd. is a fluoroplastics manufacturer established in September 2025 as a joint venture between Zhejiang Jiaxiang Fluoroplastics Co., Ltd. and Gansu Juhua New Materials Co., Ltd. of the Juhua Group. We produce high-performance fluoroplastic sheet, rod, tube, film and sealing components at our Yumen, Gansu site and a second production base in Zhejiang. As a Modified PTFE Sheet manufacturer, we supply eight published grades as full sheet, cut gaskets, sealing frames, wear pads and drawing-specific machined parts for chemical, semiconductor, automotive, aerospace and electrical equipment.

Each grade is defined by a published property envelope rather than colour alone. Density, tensile strength, compression ratio and rebound ratio are stated against ASTM methods, so a specification can be written around measurable values and checked against the delivered batch.

The Modified PTFE Sheet Range

Grade Colour Density, g/cm³ (ASTM D792) Tensile strength, MPa (ASTM F152) Compression / rebound, % (ASTM F36)
JUXIANG-S500 Blue 1.55–1.65 ≥8 ≥20 / ≥30
JUXIANG-S511 Yellow 2.1–2.3 ≥18 8–15 / ≥45
JUXIANG-S522 Brown 2.1–2.3 ≥13 8–15 / ≥45
JUXIANG-S533 White 2.3–2.5 ≥10 8–15 / ≥45
JUXIANG-S600 Blue 2.1–2.3 ≥13 ≥10 / ≥30
JUXIANG-S611 Light grey 2.1–2.3 ≥12 ≥10 / ≥30
JUXIANG-S700 Light brown 2.1–2.3 ≥18 ≥10 / ≥30
JUXIANG-S711 Black 2.1–2.2 ≥15 ≥10 / ≥35

S500 sits at the low-density end with the highest compression ratio, which suits soft, conformable sealing duties. The grades from S511 to S711 run at higher density and tensile strength with lower compression and higher rebound, a combination used where bolted joints must resist creep and where wear resistance or dimensional stability under load matters. Colour coding keeps grades identifiable on the shop floor, in stores and during maintenance.

Application Fit by Equipment and Process

  • Chemical, petrochemical and power: flange gaskets, tank-mouth seals, pump and valve seats, splash shields and lining plates exposed to acids, alkalis and solvents.
  • Semiconductor and electronics: wet-bench fixtures, carrier contact parts, high-purity fluid-handling components and electrical insulation where particle generation and extractables must stay controlled.
  • Automotive and automation: low-friction wear pads, guide components, piston and brake rings, cable protection and drag-chain parts.
  • Aerospace and sealing: static and dynamic seals, backup rings and composite sealing frames for combined temperature and chemical exposure.
  • Laboratory and process equipment: inert contact parts, digestion vessels, filtration hardware and release surfaces.

Sheet is the starting material for our Modified PTFE Gasket production, and the same compounds are supplied in rod and tube form through our Filled PTFE Tube,Rod range when a component is machined from solid rather than cut from sheet.

Modification Systems and Selection Variables

Modified PTFE sheet is compounded PTFE: the base polymer is combined with glass fibre, carbon, graphite, bronze, mineral or polymer fillers, or is sodium-etched and bonded to a backing, to change compressive creep, wear rate, thermal conductivity, friction or dimensional stability. The grade table gives the resulting mechanical envelope; the working point decides which part of that envelope is appropriate.

  • Media, concentration and the presence of abrasive solids
  • Continuous and peak service temperature, plus thermal cycling
  • Internal pressure, bolt load and flange standard
  • Static sealing versus dynamic wear or guiding duty
  • Mating surface finish, hardness and available gasket thickness
  • Electrical insulation, thermal conduction or release requirements

Formats, Thickness and Machining

Sheet is supplied in flat formats and thicknesses, and as cut or machined parts to drawing. We cut gaskets, rings, sealing frames, slide pads and insulation plates, and machine profiles where edge quality or tolerance requires it. For large sealing structures, our moulded sealing-frame family extends the same material into one-piece frames, while PFA Backed Glass Fiber Sheet covers duties that need a PFA surface over a glass-fibre reinforced core.

Quality Route and Acceptance Data

Testing follows the methods printed in the grade table: density to ASTM D792, tensile strength to ASTM F152, compression and rebound to ASTM F36. Sheet is checked for thickness, width, length, flatness and visual defects before packing, and the grade test data travels with the delivery documents. Where a project specifies certification or inspection documentation, we confirm the applicable documents before the order is released.

  • Grade identification and colour verification against the order
  • Dimensional inspection of sheet and machined parts
  • Batch traceability from resin lot to packed sheet
  • Documentation package matched to the project file

Information We Use to Configure Your Solution

  • Process medium, concentration and operating temperature range
  • Pressure class, bolt load and flange or joint dimensions
  • Whether the part seals, guides, insulates, conducts heat or releases
  • Required sheet thickness, sheet size or finished drawing
  • Quantity, annual demand and delivery schedule
  • Documentation, marking and packaging requirements

Packing, Repeat Orders and Technical Response

Sheet is interleaved and edge-protected, then crated for export; cut parts are bagged, labelled by grade and drawing number, and packed to keep flatness in transit. Drawings and grade data are retained so repeat orders run against the same specification. Inquiries receive a technical reply within 12 working hours, and our two production bases support scheduling across larger programmes.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does modified PTFE sheet differ from virgin PTFE sheet?

Virgin PTFE offers the broadest chemical resistance but creeps under sustained bolt load and wears quickly in dynamic duty. Modified grades add fillers or surface treatment to raise tensile strength, reduce compression set, improve thermal conductivity or extend wear life; the trade-off is a narrower chemical envelope for some fillers, which we match to the medium before a grade is confirmed.

Which grade suits a bolted flange gasket?

It depends on temperature, pressure, medium and flange condition. S500 is used where high compression and conformability are needed on softer or less rigid joints; the higher-density grades are selected where creep resistance and recovery under load are the priority. We confirm the grade against the working point rather than by colour alone.

Can you supply finished parts rather than full sheet?

Yes. We cut and machine gaskets, rings, sealing frames, wear pads and insulation plates to drawing, and we retain the drawing and grade record for repeat supply. Parts can be supplied from the same grade as the sheet so that a maintenance store holds one material reference.

What do you need to quote a modified PTFE sheet order?

Send the medium, temperature and pressure, the joint or component dimensions, the required thickness and quantity, and any documentation or marking requirements. A drawing or sample lets us confirm machining scope and packing; we reply with a grade recommendation and a quotation within 12 working hours.
